Who We Are
The idea behind Mia Sorella began with a desire to open a sanctuary where we could bless others by providing a place where all are welcomed as a sister.
Mia Sorella, meaning my sister in Italian, strives to create an environment of welcomeness and care for all those who walk through our doors. All women need to feel beautiful. It is our mission to facilitate that.
As we began to cast a vision for what we wanted Mia Sorella to embody the words home and sisterhood played a key role. Mia Sorella was created and our mission is to spread an atmosphere of love and sisterhood to all those we serve.
Mary Sirois - Owner
Mary is a mother of three and an entrepreneur. She has two sisters and one is her identical twin and co-owner. After attending Purdue and earning her degree in nutrition, she took a job at The Chicago Board of Tradewhich is where she realized a passion for trading and business. She became a member of the CBOT and began her own company MAV Trading Inc. in 2000. She continues to actively trade futures daily while expanding into new ventures including Mia Sorella. Mary is inspired by seeing fruit from small beginnings.
Molly Kiefer - Owner
Molly is a mother of three and local pastor. She attended Purdue and earned a degree in Restaurant/Hotel Management. Molly earned a master's degree in Education and began influencing young lives within her field. After the birth of her second child she became a grant writing consultant and began ministry in the local church. Today, she loves working with people in both the church and business world. She is inspired by seeing women discovering who they are and watching them flourish.
Jessica Heckman - Salon Manager, Hair Stylist, & Make-Up Artist
Jessica is a trained hair stylist and also specializes in SoCap hair extensions and Paula Dorf makeup. Her past experience includes hair and makeup for the Chicago Bulls cheerleaders, fashion shows, print work and onsite bridal hair and makeup. What inspires Jessica the most in the fashion world is the hair and makeup of television and film stars. She loves bringing those famous hair and makeup tricks to the everyday woman.
Tiffany Simpson - General Manager
During her employment at a well-known coffee establishment, Tiffany worked her way up from barista to a position in management. She learned the ins and outs of the salon while working on the management team at her previous employer. Tiffany is most inspired by music, travel and coffee.
Cindy - Spa Manager & Nail Specialist
Cindy is a licensed nail technician with 2010 being her 20th year in the business. She loves her job because every day she makes other people feel more beautiful. While she is educated in all nail systems and is considered a manicurist guru, she has focused her attention on natural nail care. She is inspiring to make everyone more aware that well groomed nails are just as much a part of everyday beauty as hair care and that getting your nails done can be a quick and gratifying beauty fix.
Leilanee DePaz - Hair Stylist
Leilanee has been a licensed cosmetologist for over 12 years specializing in haircuts/hairstyles, updos and nails. She graduated from Pivot Point International Academy in Schaumburg and received extensive training from a well known salon in Chicago's Magnificent Mile area. Leilanee also attended classes by some of the top Hollywood stylists to the stars. As a mother of three girls, her inspiration comes from seeing the transformation and joy in everyday women's face as they light up after receiving a new hairstyle. Her philosophy to cutting and styling is to give someone a look that compliments their face, personality and most importantly their lifestyle.
Jessica DeRose - Hair Stylist
Jessica attended Cosmetology & Spa Institute, a Vidal Sassoon connection school, and has been with Mia Sorella since the start of her career. She has a huge passion for this industry, and loves keeping up with trends and learning new styles. She is also passionate about every single client leaving Mia Sorella feeling their best!
Jodie Steck - Licensed Massage Therapist
Jodie has been a licensed massage therapist for 5 years in both the chiropractic and spa setting. She loves working with people's individual needs and having them leave feeling tension free and more relaxed.
Faith Kerbis - Boutique
After graduating from NIU, Faith worked in advertising before getting married and having two children. For the last 20 years, Faith has continued with her first love and worked in various areas of the retail industry while raising her family. As part of the Mia Sorella team, Faith uses her passion for fashion as inspiration to help women look and feel their best.
Sabrina Gregg - Boutique
After graduating from Carroll College in Wisconsin, Sabrina moved back to the area to get married and start a family. She has worked in retail for over 10 years, and is excited to use her experience and love of fashion to help salon, spa and boutique clients find the perfect outfit or gift. Sabrina is inspired by music, food, fashion, and art and loves working with all the wonderful girls at Mia Sorella.
